Emily M. DeGennaro Associate

Emily M. DeGennaro focuses her practice on family law matters, bringing a strong background in child welfare litigation and courtroom advocacy. Prior to joining Davis Miles, Emily served as an Assistant County Attorney in Westchester County, New York, where she represented the Department of Social Services in cases involving child abuse and neglect. She has first-chair trial experience and has managed a caseload of over 200 matters, handling everything from discovery to motion practice and trial preparation.
Emily earned her Juris Doctor from the Maurice A. Deane School of Law at Hofstra University, where she was recognized for her leadership and public service. She served as President of the Student Bar Association and was an Articles Editor for the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (“ACTEC”) Law Journal. She also received multiple honors, including the James J. Sample Commitment to Students Award and the Distinguished Service to the School Award.
Emily is passionate about advocating for families and children, and she brings a compassionate, detail-oriented approach to every case. She is admitted to practice in both Arizona and New York.
A Long Island native, Emily loves going to the beach and rooting for the New York Yankees. In her free time, she enjoys working out and spending time with her family, friends, and dog named Ravioli.
