David I. Weissman Partner

In an effort to help his clients create business practices that comply with local, state, and federal regulations, David Weissman counsels them on employment laws, policies, and procedures. Realizing that issues will still arise, even with the most up-to-date policies in place, David is there to defend them against claims for employment discrimination, harassment, wrongful termination, unpaid wages, and other employment-related disputes.
David has experience in all aspects of employment litigation in federal and state courts, administrative agency proceedings, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings. He works proactively with employer clients both to avoid and resolve employment issues by providing day-to-day advice on hiring, discipline, termination, and other employment matters. David’s practice also includes preparing and reviewing employee confidentiality agreements, post-employment restrictive covenants, severance agreements, and employee policy manuals, assisting with internal investigations, providing reduction-in-force analyses, and training company managers and supervisors on employment best practices.
David’s background as general counsel for two Arizona-based home furnishings retail companies means that he understands the challenges facing growing companies and offers practical, efficient legal solutions. David’s oversight included all legal matters and various business-side activities including human resources, benefits, insurance, and real estate operations. The experience working in-house is a benefit he brings to all of his client relationships.
In addition to his experience in the retail industry, David has also represented companies in employment law and business litigation representing companies in the automotive, education, medical, hospitality, consulting, design professional, and human services industries.
