Ron Holmes concentrates his practice in the areas of small business and consumer bankruptcies under Chapters 7, 11, 12 and 13 and real estate law and litigation. He serves clients throughout the state of New Mexico.

A native New Mexican, Ron grew up in Alamogordo. He earned his J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 1996, and his B.A. in Political Science and Economics also from the University of New Mexico in 1991.

Ron currently serves on the Bankruptcy Section Board of Directors as its Secretary having served from 2001 to 2010 and again in 2013 to present, has served the past Chairman of the Board (2004). Ron is also a former Bankruptcy Trustee.  Ron received the New Mexico State Bar’s Outstanding Contribution Award in 2003 and the Robert H. LaFollette Pro Bono Award in 2010, which is the equivalent of a lifetime achievement award.  Ron continues to volunteer at the State Bar’s monthly Consumer Debt Workshop and has for over 20 years.

In addition to his law practice, Ron is an active licensed real estate broker and Realtor® and the Qualifying Broker for Stetson Realty.

Ron currently serves, and has been the past President, for the Board of Directors for the Federal Bar Association New Mexico Chapter, has been the past Chair for the Board of Directors for the J. Reuben Clark Law Society Albuquerque Chapter and a member of the Greater Albuquerque Area Board of Realtors.  Ron has served in various positions in his Church and continues to volunteer on a regular basis.

Ron enjoys water sports including wake surfing and wakeboarding in the summer and snow skiing in the winter.  On the weekends, you can find Ron tinkering around old cars.  Finally, and most importantly, Ron’s proudest moments and achievements are both brought about and shared because of his wife and five wonderful children.
