A LegalShield member artist created an iconic mural in Santa Fe many years ago. It is called “Multicultural.” The New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs was to remove the mural in order to build a new art museum. This created no small uproar in a town that tries to preserve its culture. Penelope Quintero took the case, which became a much broader cause in Santa Fe…in a fight against gentrification and for cultural preservation A happy outcome was achieved.
