When does child support stop?

Child support stops when the child reaches the age of 18 and graduates from high school or the equivalent, whichever occurs last, but not past the age of 19 for most children. If a minor becomes emancipated earlier, than the duty of support stops. If the child is mentally or physically handicapped, then the court may determine that support must continue past the age of majority and the end of high school. (A.R.S. 25-501(a)).
