Rob has been practicing law for over 35 years, mostly for large national firms. He has considerable experience in corporate restructurings and reorganizations in and outside of ch 11; assisting in providing and documenting Debtor In Possession financing; doing registered debt exchange offerings; developing and documenting distressed asset sales within ch 11 (363 sales or pursuant to a liquidating plan) and getting involved in related and sometimes unrelated civil litigation in federal courts.
Within the last 10 years of his career Rob shifted gears to do M&A and private equity transactions, mostly non-public transactions. Most deals were not insolvency related but about 20% were.
During the course of his career, Rob has addressed complex structuring issues necessary to meet tax and regulatory concerns, represented several client hedge funds at the same time with respect to acquiring the assets of their ch 11 debtor, which involved a delicate balancing act on governance issues that required resolution of competing concerns (a significant contributor to the gray hair). He has been exposed to real estate, corporate financing, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, litigation matters and other substantive areas of the law.
Rob also practiced as a chemical engineer and consultant for 10 years prior to law school and lived in Bahrain and Sydney for 5 of those years as an expatriate.
He is admitted to practice in AZ, as well as CA, TX, NY and WA (inactive status for jurisdictions other than AZ.
