Elizabeth Nañez is a bilingual associate in the firm’s Family Law Department. Liz is an assertive litigator who assists individuals with a wide range of domestic relations law issues such as divorce, spousal maintenance, child support, third-party rights, guardianship, and relocation, among others.

Liz graduated from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at Arizona State University. There, she completed an externship with Honorable Diane J. Humetewa at the Arizona District Court, which afforded her the opportunity to gain valuable legal research and writing experience. Liz also participated in the Post-Conviction Clinic, where she investigated claims of wrongful conviction and manifest injustice from inmates convicted of crimes in Arizona. In addition, Liz served as the Vice President of the Chicano/Latino Law Students’ Association. As Vice President, Liz organized the school’s most widely attended student-organized event, the 36th Annual Fajita Cook-Off. The event served the important purpose of raising scholarship funds to benefit CLLSA members. Finally, in her last year of law school, Liz was selected as the Spring 2022 Diversity Legal Writing Intern at Davis Miles McGuire Gardner, PLLC.

Before law school, Liz earned her bachelor’s in political science at Arizona State University. As an undergrad, Liz interned internationally and lived in London, England. After graduation, she worked her way up positions at two litigation firms. She worked as a legal assistant, certified paralegal, and then law clerk. These positions made Liz fall in love with litigation itself, which to her, is an art of its own.

Today, Liz, along with her colleagues, manages the firm’s Diversity Legal Writing Program, a program designed to promote diversity and inclusion. This is an important project to Liz, who is the daughter to parents who immigrated from Mexico City and Michoacan.

Outside of the firm, you can find Liz on the dance floor engaging in her second passion, salsa and bachata dance.
