Message from the Managing Partner:

I love practicing law at Davis Miles McGuire Gardner because we are with our clients through whatever may come, this year or for the next ten.

New businesses, growth, development, problem solving and dispute resolution are exciting ways we are privileged
to help our business clients.  We are also here when hard times
come – be they business challenges or personal and family legal

needs. It’s gratifying to see my colleagues apply their knowledge, skills and expertise to improve lives.
I have seen relationships evolve over decades, where this firm handled all the legal matters our clients have ever needed. I have a front row seat as my colleagues and I contribute not only to the legal well-being of those clients, but to our communities as well.
If 2019 is any indication, 2020 is going to be tremendous.  Highlights of last year include several key litigation wins for our business and government clients, including a $1 million breach of contract/fraud case, in which our team was successful in paring the plaintiff’s claims through summary judgment and in obtaining a complete defense verdict on the remaining issues at trial.

We successfully completed a complex M&A transaction valued at $30 million for a sophisticated business client – one of many important transactions. Meanwhile, we added lawyers to our top rated family law and bankruptcy practices, and greatly expanded our mass tort practice, representing nearly 100 individuals in cases against the makers of the pesticide Roundup. Our Access to Justice team handled approximately 45,000 cases for members of LegalShield, and took 110,000 phone calls from those who otherwise would not get the legal help they sought.
These and other achievements, and the spirit in which they were obtained, earned us 2019 Law Firm of the Year honors, according to Attorney at Law Magazine.

Along the way, the firm also received accolades for our employee wellness programs and we supported scholarships for STEAM students (high schoolers studying Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) in conjunction with the East Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. We also sponsored marathons, the performing arts and local charities; including raising $3,600 for the Child Crisis Center. What a great year.

In 2020, new developments are on the way. Not only will we be expanding our services and adding practices, but we will also be adding new ways to provide you legal information – including a podcast in the works, entitled “Is That Even Legal?” hosted by partner Robert Sewell, and a new regular video series, “Love Factually!” hosted by the state’s number-one divorce attorney, partner Douglas Gardner.
2020 looks bright.  Thank you for a tremendous 2019!
