“Seek justice, love mercy, walk humbly.” Micah 6:8
While in business school at ASU, Christopher discovered that the common thread that connects every one of the Fortune 500 CEOs is a shared passion for what they do. So he asked himself, “what am I passionate about?”…. “Problem solving!” For as long as he can remember, he’s enjoyed finding solutions to seemingly complex problems. And he loves helping others (“it’s gratifying”). Putting these together, the law was a natural fit.
Surrounded by REALTORS® for most of his life, a law practice focused on real estate was inevitable. Christopher has developed a niche practice helping property owners resolve real estate related disputes, both commercial and residential. Ranging from breach of contract, deficiency judgments, evictions, easement disputes, to fraud, Christopher has the experience and expertise to get clients the results they need.
Real estate is anything but boring – especially in Arizona! Very few real estate cases make it all the way to trial, but when they do, Christopher is prepared. He has tried more than a dozen trials and in 2010, he fought relentlessly for his clients’ property rights in a 5-day trial – following an appeal and a 4-year battle in the Superior Court (his clients prevailed). Put simply, he never gives up.
Christopher recognizes that problem solving doesn’t always mean costly and protracted litigation. He is a big proponent of alternative dispute resolution. Mediation and arbitration are often far more efficient and cost-effective for resolving property disputes rather than litigation. Christopher is an approved arbitrator/mediator for AAR and serves as a private judge to help property owners decide disputes. He also arbitrates matters for the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Christopher loves sharing his passion for the law with others. He recently presented a continuing legal education (CLE) seminar to a group of lawyers and REALTORS® on eviction actions. And he is frequently asked to speak to the general public on topics such as foreclosures, short sales, and Arizona’s anti-deficiency statutes.
Christopher is also a licensed real estate instructor with the Arizona Department of Real Estate and regularly teaches continuing education classes for REALTORS® and attorneys at the Arizona School of Real Estate and Business. Talk radio: Christopher shares his knowledge of real estate law on his radio talk show “Get to Know the Law with Davis Miles McGuire Gardner” on Arizona New Talk Radio AM 1260/FM 96.1.
“America’s justice system is second to none – but it is far from perfect.” Christopher accepts that with his profession, comes great responsibility. To that end, he takes great pride in serving on the State Bar of Arizona’s Civil Jury Instructions Committee where he helps revise and draft model jury instructions for our judges.
